He is the Guardian of Women ,Children, Travellers, the sick , and those most in Need.Often found on roadside and Garden shrines. Offerings and Prayers are made for safe Journey, Women in difficult enviroments,those suffering from illness, and children who have passed away or are lost.

The Roku Jizo , The Six stone Saints , Protect and Guard the Six Senses , hearing,smell,touch,sight,taste,and the Mind. They also act as arbitrators in the in between states following death and before rebirth, where they tell the Judge , Emma-Dai-O, King of hell and Destiny of the merits of the transitory Soul. They list ones Right Thought ,Speech ,and Actions , expressing the worthiness of the Soul being weighed and ask for a Auspicious Rebirth.
