About Me

My Artist name is Honshin ,given to me by my teachers in Japan in 1984, It translates as Original Mind or ClearHeart. I currently own and operate the Golden Lotus Gallery in Sedona Arizona and Honshin Fine Arts Studio, with my wife and friend Krystal.
Honshin's Art and Poetry are the result of his experiance with and continual study of the Eastern and Western Spiritual Practices; the Perennial Philosophies of the World; Tibetan and Zen Buddhism; and the Meso- American Cultures. My work is an Amalgamation of the Mythic Sacred Symbols and Geometries, Nature, and the present discoveries in Science and Meditation. Creating a Fusion of the Traditional with the Modern highlights the Natural Harmony of Beliefs, Symbols,and Practices of East and West.
The Work reflects the Transformation of the Perennial Philosophies and the Mythic Symbols into Modern Mythic images of the Transcendent Moment
Honshin's Artwork is combined with the Teachings and Poetry of Thich Nhat Hanh and is published as a series of Calendars, Datebooks,Journals and Notecards. These inspire and guide people Worldwide in the Practice of the pricipals of Compassion, Love, Kindness, and Joy, in the Present Moment.
